Getting Around - Transport in Malta and Gozo

Local Public Transport:

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Most buses start their routes from the Valletta Bus Terminus located just outside the entrance to the City and radiate to all points in Malta. Recently, buses that run direct trips between tourist areas have been instituted. These routes only operate during the summer season.  Busses leave from City Gate in Valletta passing between villages and towns, stopping mostly near or in the vicinity of the parish church or church square. Busses in Malta are Yellow with an orange central stripe. The Bus Service on Malta offers an extremely cheap and efficient way of touring around. The only drawback is that all busses start and end up in Valletta. ie. to get to any other town you may need to get to Valletta first, then take another to another town.

Busses in Gozo: The main Bus Terminus is in Victoria, operating circular routes leaving and returning to Victoria.

A regular bus service operates runs to and from Mgarr Harbor to Valletta- coinciding with the Gozo Channels Schedule of ferry trips. Children pay half price.
