| Area/Locality Description: | Gharb means West and this typical old Gozitan village unsurprisingly lies in the West of the Island. It started life as a small hamlet centuries ago. You can see its ancient roots in the centre of the village where some houses have fine example of decorated stone balconies. On the square is a fascinating folklore museum housing all sorts of memorabilia retelling the Islands' rural history. Gharb lies in some of Gozo's most delightful countryside, particularly at Dbiegi, the highest hill on the Island. Also at Dbiegi is a centre for Gozitan crafts. Within the limits of Gharb is the quaint Chapel of San Dimitri. According to legend, the first chapel was built on the cliff side by a woman whose son was freed from captivity by St. Demetrius. Also nearby is the Basilica ta' Pinu, Malta's pre-eminent shrine to the Virgin Mary. It was on this spot in 1883 that a local woman heard the voice of the Virgin. |

depending on your arrival time in Malta or Gozo we will arrange your transfer to
Gozo on arrival thus locating the property without delay. To do this we
will require your flight details - i.e your flight number and time of arrival
in Malta. Meeting point is at the Malta International Airport
From Malta there is the ferry where
you sail past the glorious blue lagoon-
The
ferry goes every 30 minutes and even during the night in the summer time.
The ferry is usually a very enjoyable part of your
holiday experience on the maltese Islands where you sail past Comino and
accross to Gozo
Departure : Unless
arranged with us, your departure back to the Airport can be arranged with the
same driver you came with on arrrival; please do inform the driver of
your intended time of departure.. Remember Standard check out time from the
property is before 11:30AM in the morning. Please PAY the Driver
