Description:

This beautifully converted Gozo farmhouse is situated on the outskirts of the village of Gharb ,pronounced as "arb".  The main entrance faces on to a small square, which allows for ample car parking space while also attracting street vendors who stop their vans to sell their produce including fish, vegetables, soft drinks etc at different times during the week.

On entering the house you walk through a large vaulted hallway, which leads on to a pretty central courtyard that abounds in plants.  Off the courtyard there is a large kitchen/dining-room which has all the mod cons including a gas cooker, 2 x fridges/deep freeze and hot/cold running water, dishwasher, magimix etc.   A large dining table seats 8 people.

The sitting room also leads off the central courtyard via an arched hallway. This room is spectacular in that it is a very impressive room with a large arched ceiling with the original animal troughs having been converted into seating all round. Also there is a TV with cable facilities and a fan as well as a stereo.

  • Both the kitchen/dining room and sitting room have independent and direct access to a beautiful large private garden, which offers ample space for entertaining and barbecues prepared on the large gas barbecue.  The mature palm trees form a wonderful canopy creating shade during the summer months, which is perfect for eating out.  A round wooden table outdoors can seat 12 people comfortably and a smaller table seats a small group perfectly while looking towards the pool.  The pool is a recent addition to the house and is a good size 28ft by 15ft.  This spacious area is beautifully designed (inspired from travels to Thailand) and enjoys panoramic views of the sea looking toward the chapel of San Dimitri.

  • Bedroom 4 leads off the central courtyard.  It has a double beds and a stand-up fan.  Again off the courtyard are two separate shower rooms with hot and cold high-pressure showers and toilets.

  • Leading from the central courtyard there is an internal stairway which leads to the first floor which has a gallery overlooking the courtyard and open to the sky.

  • Bedroom 3 leads off this gallery.  This is a large room full of character.  In this room, as in Bedroom 2, there is raised area. In the room there is a large brass antique double bed and a wardrobe and a stand-up electric fan.

  • The main bedroom (Bedroom 1) leads off the gallery by way of an arched hallway. It is an extremely spacious room with an incredible arched ceiling.  There is a big double bed and also a single bed.  Also leading off the main bedroom is a beautiful large balcony which overlooks the garden and on to the sea.  There is a bathroom ensuite with hot/cold high-pressured water to the shower, bath and toilet.

  • Bedroom 2 leads off the gallery.  This room is again large and has a similar feature as in bedroom 3 in that it has a raised area.  Again there is an antique double bed with a mosquito net attached to the ceiling above the bed and a window overlooking the garden on towards the sea.  There is also a single bed in this room.  This room can make an ideal children’s dormitory as it can accommodate 3 people as well as the cot.

  • There is a bathroom leading off the gallery, which has again hot/cold high-pressure shower, bath and toilet.

  • There is also a washroom with a washing machine, ironing board etc.

  • The stairs leading up from the gallery lead to an extensive roof, which has incredible panoramic views across the fields, up to the lighthouse and on the Mediterranean Sea. 

A cleaner is available who lives across the square.

The house is a two-minute walk from the local grocery store and close to several restaurants in the area.  It is also a very close to the main church and square.

Bed Linen provided.  If you want to bring your own please do so as you prefer. Beach towels are not provided.  

Getting around nearby car hire is recommended for proper exploration of the island.
